Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actress, best known for her performances in the movies Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! Her first fame was her role in Tezaab from the 1980s, in which she co-starred along with an established actor Anil Koopor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. In her early years her Mumbai-born dancer started studying at a very early age. At the age of 16, she began acting and was a victim for a few years due to the fact that her first films were failures. She found fame and became one of India's leading film actors. Following her wedding the actress took time away from performing before returning. Dixit played an important role on Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit is nominated to win fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit. It is the fourth most prestigious civil award in India. Also, she is well acknowledged for her work in the field of charity.
